  • How do I sign up with iTransact?

  • What does it cost? How and when am I billed?

  • How long does setup take? How will I know when it's done?
    Merchant Account setup generally takes less than one week from the time we receive all of the correct pieces of your application. When it's ready, you will be notified by email.

  • What payment types can I accept?
    Your merchant account gives you the ability to accept Visa and MasterCard payments. At your discretion, iTransact will also arrange to have a new American Express and Discover Account set up at no charge. If you already have an American Express and/or Discover Account, iTransact will also transfer this over at no charge.

  • How and when am I paid?
    Funds from credit card sales are deposited into your checking account approximately 2-3 business days after your customer's payment is made. Funds go directly to you and are not routed through iTransact.

  • What about fraud?
    It is unlikely that you will receive a fraudulent credit cards, but as a merchant accepting credit cards, you need to be aware that there are some dishonest people out there. There are some features in place to help you deal with them: If someone attempts to make payment using a card that

      (a) has been reported lost or stolen,

      (b) is blocked by the card-issuing bank,

      and/or

      (c) does not have enough available credit on it to complete the purchase,

    the transaction will not succeed and you will not receive a message declining the charge. At your discretion, we can pre-set the fraud protections on your terminal to your preferred security levels. For each terminal, we can adjust your settings to require a matching zip code, CVV#, which is usually a three digit number on the back of the card. If you are processing over our Internet Gateway, we can adjust the settings to require any/all of the above including address verification.

  • How do I change the checking account linked to my Merchant Account?
    Your merchant account is linked to a checking account of your choice for deposit of your customers' payments and withdrawal of your fees. To link your merchant account to a different checking account, please click here for instructions.

  • Can I keep my existing merchant account AND sign up for Check Guarantee Processing and Internet Gateway?
    Yes, you can. Although at the rates we have quoted for SFCU members, it is likely you are paying more for your processing than you would with iTransact, we can certainly set up check processing and an Internet gateway using your existing Merchant Account.

  • How do I get answers to additional questions?
